Nikita!
This blog has really been lacking in Nikita pictures, so here's one from a few weekends ago, when she was outside in the yard ripping up grass for some reason.

The Leopard
Sorry I didn't post about this sooner! I did complain on Twitter, haha!
Anyway, I decided to skip last night's movie - I'm going to put it at the bottom of my list and watch it after I finish the third book, when I can rent the correct version.
Here's what happened - I saw the movie was streaming on Netflix, so I didn't try to get a DVD or anything. I should have checked what version was on Netflix, though. The only version they were streaming was an English-dubbed version, with 40 minutes cut out of it. Ebert actually complains about this version in his book, using it as an example of why people don't like the movie. It seemed like I would really be missing a lot, and I didn't want to just be like, "I hated this movie but I watched the wrong version", so I thought it would be better to just skip it. Sorry guys, but you can read about it in a few months!

Kieślowski's Three Colors Trilogy
Just a heads up of some kind. I'm watching Blue, White, and Red, from Krzysztof Kieślowski's Three Colors Trilogy right now. I am ashamed to say that I've never seen them before, but I watched Blue last night, and was really moved by it. It was a truly beautiful film and I can't wait to watch the other two. I'll post about them all together once I'm done. Kieślowski directed The Decalogue, which I really loved as well, so I'm excited to finally check these out.

Questions!
I considered making a poll of some kind for this, but I think all of like, three people regularly read my blog, so I thought it was just easier to ask. Please feel free to answer in the comments or email me, your answers will be very helpful!
Thanks! If you have any other comments about my weird format, let me know!
Here are some random pictures of Nikita, so there is some sort of incentive to read this post.
- What do you think about the format of my posts?
- Would you prefer that I keep the bulk of the posts under a jump (i.e. a brief part of the post followed by a "read more" sort of link)? This means you'd have to click through to see the whole post, but you could also more easily browse around through the recent posts.
- Would you like it if I embedded movie trailers instead of linking to them? On a vaguely similar note, would you like links to buy/rent the films? I stopped doing it since Amazon Associates no longer works for Illinois residents.
- And finally, do you like that I do brief summaries of the movies, or would you rather I omit that part?
Thanks! If you have any other comments about my weird format, let me know!

| Posing. I wish these were from today, that would mean the weather was not depressing. |

Sort of Spring
It's finally starting to feel vaguely like spring - things are sort of green, there is much rain, it's occasionally warm out, the whole deal.
Spent pretty much the whole day relaxing and reading, which I needed so badly. Nikita and I adventured outside for a bit as well. :)
My blog was really lacking in Nikita pictures, so I had to remedy it. Hope everyone is experience a bit of nice spring weather themselves!

Blogging.
This is what I do in my free time - watch movies, and blog about them on my netbook. With Nikita. Life is good.

Snow!
Lots of snow today - a constant flurry of huge clumps of it drifting down from the sky. I love it when it snows like this, I'm always in such a good mood the whole day because it's so beautiful. :)
It's a nice cozy day for staying in, curling up under a blanket with Nikita to watch a movie. She is upset because she had to go out in the snow - which is pretty deep, mind you. Being lazy, I didn't shovel a path for her, so her ittle feets got cold, daaaawwwww. One last adorable picture, and then I have to focus and watch Chinatown, lucky for me. :)

Happy Holidays!
It's quite busy around my house right now, with everyone getting ready for Christmas. I tried to get all of my gift shopping and wrapping done early, before the first day of movie watching, but I'm still finding myself with so much to do. It's harder to find the time to sit and watch films and write when I have errands to run, gifts to wrap, and the house to clean! I'm not taking a break from the project, so on Christmas Eve, when my family exchanges gifts, I'll have to make time to watch Ali: Fear Eats the Soul and on Christmas day, when my extended family comes over for more face-stuffing, eggnog drinking, and gifts, I'll have to find time to watch All About Eve. I'm sure it will be a bit of a challenge to keep writing and watching during this busy time, but hopefully I can wrangle some of my family to check out these movies with me. :)
I hope everyone has a warm, merry Christmas, with lots of food, drink, and special moments with family and friends!
